Do the Right Thing is a 1989 American classic that features the beautiful and talented Latina, Rosie Perez. In Do The Right Thing Rosie Perez plays the role of Tina who is girlfriend of a local delivery pizza man named Mookie in a racially tense Brooklyn, New York. Rosie Perez made her debut in the film along side Martin Lawrence and was casted by the writer, producer, and director of the film, Spike Lee.
Rosie Perez, born September 6, 1964, in Bushwick Brooklyn went on after her role as Tina in Do The Right Thing to yet another box office smash and now urban classic, White Men Can’t Jump (1992). In this film Perez played the role of Gloria Clemente. Gloria was the girlfriend of Los Angeles streetball hustler, Billy Hoyle, played by actor Woody Harrelson. Surprisingly, Rosie Perez began her career as a dancer on Soul Train in the 1980s. She was hired for her role in Do The Right Thing after being noticed by Spike Lee while dancing at a night club at the age of 24.
Perez later choreographed several music videos for major artist such as L.L. Cool J, Diana Ross, Janet Jackson, and Bobby Brown.
